52th Split Summer

There will be more than 800 artists participating at the realization of the 52nd Split Summer Festival from Hungary, Italy, China, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Poland, United States of America, Great Britain, Latvia, Slovenia, Israel, Bulgaria, and, of course, from Croatia.

Program and financial success of both 50th jubilee-festival and 51st Split Summer Festival is obliging. The history of the City of Split is also obliging, the history of its spontaneous theatricality. Everything entitled to light, for more than a half a century, significantly participates in the summer luxury, leaving a profound cultural trail in the city stony time warp.
Split Summer Festival, besides Dubrovnik Summer Festival, being the most important summer cultural event not only in Croatia, but at the whole East Adriatic coast, considers it natural to include the architecture pearls of Solin, that is Salona, Trogir and Kaštela into the Split Summer Festival program. That way cultural programs complement the tourist offer and act according new trends in tourism, cultural tourism being one of the most important. That is why Croatian National Tourist Board and County Tourist Association increasingly participate in the realization of the Split Summer Festival program.
This year, following that trend, Split Summer Festival has expended its contact with these sites on the islands as well, preparing "Hvarkinja" (The Woman from Hvar) by Benetović, in cooperation with "Uhlod" Association from Stari Grad on the island of Hvar. The joint premiere will be held on Carrarina poljana in Split. It is our intention to innovate the concept ofSplit Summer Festival by including towns and islands of our County. However, volume and program in those areas will be organizationally, technically and financially conditioned, and we can consider the inclusion of Solin, Trogir, Kaštela and Stari Grad as a kind of pilot program.
