"Novi tango" Astora
Piazolle
linija i svrstavanje. Poslije više od tri desetljeća, mnogi
još nisu prihvatili "novi tango" Astora Piazolle. Neki ga
nikada neće prihvatiti. Na svom putu, tango gasne i slabi, a
Piazolla postaje glavni čovjek avangarde. On je rastegnuo
stara pravila formi pjesama, a ponekad ih je čak potpuno
odbacio. Zadržao je romantizam tanga, odbacujući njegove
sklonosti ka nostalgiji i morbidnom samosažaljevanju.
improvizaciju i osnažio ih neočekivanim spojem
"New tango" of Astor
Piazzolla
Tangueros, like jazz fans, are passionate about their tastes.
With every development in the music, battle lines are
quickly drawn and sides taken. After more than three decades,
many have yet to accept the "new tango" of Astor PiazzoUa.
Some never will. Along the way, tango had turned sepia-colored
and brittle and Piazzolla became a one-man avant garde. He
stretched old song-form conventions and eventually dismissed
them entirely. He retained tango's romanticism while
rejecting its tendencies to nostalgia and bouts of morbid
self-pity. He revised the harmonic language to include Ravel
and Messiaen and Schoenberg and Bartok - and then he added a
walking bass. He incorporated three-part fugues and jazz-style
improvisation and povvered it all with an improbable blend
of traditional tango pulse and Stravinskian rhythms.
Peter Soave
poznatim jazzistima onoga doba.
prvu kompaktnu ploču pod naslovom Ponos i strast. U
mnogobrojne koncerte širom SAD-a i Europe.
skladbe, Tango Sensdtions s Gudačkim kvartetom Rucner i
Koncert za bandoneon i orkestar s Moskovskom filharmonijom.
Of Italian descent, Pietro Antonio Soave's (Peter Soave)
earliest memories are of music played on an aceordion,
and he insists that by age three, he was certain of his life's
work. At age sbaeen, Soave began to enter international
aceordion competitions and quickly learned the limitations
of the piano aceordion. This instrument had been superceded
by the chromatic button aceordion developed in Russia for
classical music, the bayan. This was the instrument used by
most competitors. Recognizing that his piano aceordion
was not competitive in this arena, Soave returned to America
and began a period of intense stdy to master the more
complex bayan. Returning to Europe, Soave swept first place
in the four major international competitions in Germany,
Italy, and East Germany, an unheard of feat for a virtuoso
of any instrument. Deeply inspired by the music of
Argentinean composer Astor Piazzolla, Soave began including
the charasteristic tango accordion. the bandeneon, in this
performances. Mr. Soave recently completed a recording of
Piazzolla's Five Tango Sensations with the Rucner String
Quartet of Zagreb, as well as, a recording of that composer's
Concerto for Bandoneon and Orchestra with the Moscow State
Symphony. Most recently, Soave recorded the Pizzolla
Concerto with the Zagreb Solists fot imminent relase.

Gudački kvartet Rucner utemeljili su 1 998. godine bračni
par Snježana i Dragan Rucner (do tada dugogodišnji članovi
Gudačkog kvarteta Klima). Nastavljajući zagrebačku tradiciju
komornog muziciranja njegovanjem klasičnog i suvremenog
međunarodnog repertoara kao i izvođenjem djela suvremenih
hrvatskih autora, Gudački kvartet Rucner čini i repertoarni
iskorak prema glazbi drugih žanrova, o čemu svjedoči i
njihova nadasve uspješna suradnja s američkim bandoneonistom
Peterom Soaveom.
ostalog na Muzičkom biennalu Zagreb 2001. 2003.,2005. i
2007. te na Dubrovačkim ljetnim igrama 2002. i 2003. - a
turneje su ga vodile i u Bosnu i Hercegovinu, Italiju,
Sloveniju, Austriju, Egipat, Poljsku, Njemačku i Kinu. Za
prvi ciklus koncerata komorne glazbe pod nazivom „Četiri
godišnja doba" priređen u g. 2003., Gudački kvartet Rucner
dobio je diplomu „Milka Trnina" Hrvatskoga društva glazbenih
umjetnika i godišnju nagradu „Vatroslav Lisinski" koju
dodjeljuje Hrvatsko društvo skladatelja za doprinos
hrvatskom glazbenom stvaralaštvu. Kvartet je već ostvario i
zanimljivu diskografiju. Za tvrtku Jazzette snimili su CD s
naslovom Tango Moods s djelima Astora Piazzolle (s Peterom
Soaveom), a za tvrtku Cantus d.o.o. CD s naslovom Five Tango
najbolji album klasične glazbe, a potom i CD s gitaristom
Darkom Petrinjakom s djelima j.W. Duartea, S. Dodgsona, B.
Papandopula i C. Guastavina.

The Rucner String Quartet was founded by Snježana and Dragan
Rucner (longtime members of the Klima String Quartet) in
1998. The quartet continues to nurture the Zagreb chamber
music tradition through their performances of both classical
and contemporary repertoire written by the renovvned
international and Croatian composers. They have recently
reached out towards the music of non-conventional genres and
initiated a successful collaboration with the American
bandoneon player Peter Soave with whom they have recorded
the CDs Tango Moods and Five Tango Sensations featuring the
arranged works by Astor Piazzolla. The Rucner Quartet has
given numerous concerts in Zagreb and throughout Croatia,
performed at most important Croatian festivals such as Music
Biennale Zagreb (2001, 2003, 2005 and 2207), Dubrovnik
Summer Festival (2002, 2003) and toured Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Egypt, Poland,
Germany and China. Quartet Rucner Won the award "Milka
Trnina" given by HDGU (The Croatian Society of the Musical
Artists) for the first cycle of chamber music concerts and
the annual award "Vatroslav Lisinski" given by HDS (The
Croatian Association of Composers) for contribution to the
Croatian music heritage. Quartet has already realized an
interesting discography. For the Jazzette company they
recorded CD Tango Moods with works of Astor Piazzola (with
Peter Soave), and for the Cantus company a CD Five Tango
Sensations also with the music of Astor Piazzola, nominated
for "Porin" Music Avvard 2004 for the best classical music
album and then CD with the guitarist Darko Petrinjak with
the works of J. W. Duarte, S. Dodgson, B. Papandopulo and C.
Guastavino. The four Croatian premieres for the cycle "The
Four Seasons" 2003 were recorded on CD which was nominated
for the most important Croatian musical avvard - PORIN 2005
in two categories: the best album and the best production of
classical music.
