Pino Settanni (1949)
slavni talijanski fotograf, premda je najpoznatiji po
portretima poznatih osoba iz svijeta filma, glazbe,
književnosti, kazališta (medu kojima je, naravno, značajan
broj njegovih prijatelja), u svijetu umjetničke fotografije
odavno je prepoznat i po brojnim drugim tematskim krugovima,
koji ga čine umjetnikom neobično širokog izražajnog spektra.
Rođen u mjestu Grottaglie, na samoj peti apeninske čizme (Taranto,
Salento, Apulia), fotografijom se bavi od 1966. a ona mu
profesijom postaje od 1973. kad se stalno nastanjuje u Rimu.
Njegove prve izložbe, kao i prateće monografije vezane su uz
rodni kraj i jug Italije. One s jedne strane pokazuju svu
čudesnu raskoš motiva i kolorita tog podneblja (Voligrarntni
- 1975, Slcilia di Gattuso - 1979, Costelligrammi -
1983...), a s druge Settanijev smisao za lucidno kadriranje
i odlazak u poetičnu apstrakciju. Raznorodnost i
inventivnost Settannijevog kasnijeg opusa gotovo da je
nemoguće obuhvatiti (petnaestak samostalnih fotografskih
monografija i više od šezdeset samostalnih izložbi diljem
svijeta), a pregršti panegirika iz pera najmeritornijih
prosuditelja, svakodnevica su s kojom Settani živi odavno,
ali na koju se pretjerano ne obazire. Više od nebrojenih
nagrada i priznanja znače mu novi fotografski izazovi koje s
lakoćom pronalazi na svim svjetskim meridijanima. Na 54.
splitskom ljetu Settanni će se predstaviti ciklusom
fotografija pod nazivom Cinema, koji kao i drugi njegovi
ciklusi pokazuje svu osebujnost njegova pristupa svijetu
"slavnih i poznatih".
Pino Settanni
(1949) famous Italian photographer, although famous for his
portraits of movie, music, literature and theater
celebrities (many of whom are his friends, of course), has
become famous for numerous other topics in the world of art
photographv, proving him to be the artist of extremely wide
expressive range. He was born in Grottaglie on the very heel
of the Apennine boot (Taranto, Salento, Apulia) He has been
taking photographs since 1966 and has been a professional
photographer since 1973, the year in which he moved to Rome.
His first exhibitions as well as accompanying brochures are
connected to his birth town and Italian south. On the one
hand he shows all the magical luxury of motifs and colors of
the region (Voligrammi — 1975, Sicilia di Gattuso — 1979,
Costelligrammi - 1983...), and on the other hand Settani's
sense of lucid framing and departing to a poetic abstraction.
It is almost impossible to mention the variety and
inventiveness of Settani's late work (some fifteen one-man
photography monographies and more than sixty one-man shows
throughout the world), vvhile numerous panegyrics written by
the most famous critics have become an ordinary thing that
Settanni has been living with for a long time, however, does
not care much about it. New photography challenges mean more
to him than uncountable awards and prizes. He can easily
find these challenges in all the world continents. Settanni
will present his work at the 54th Split Summer Festival with
the Cinema photo cycle which shows, just like his other
cycles, the overall peculiarity of his approach towards the
world of "the rich and famous".
