The dance program of
Split Summer Festival in certain periods exclusively consisted of
classical ballet titles that have been successfully performed at
open-air stages. Recently, there is a noticeable tendency of opening
towards more contemporary influences and approaches.
Thus, more and more
often, festival’s ballet program is a coexistence of grand openings
adapted to the carefully chosen settings, mostly produced by the Ballet
Company of Croatian National Theatre enforced with soloists from abroad
on one side and parallel performances of modern dance companies coming
from all over the world on the other.
To these contrasting,
sometimes even opposing ballet programs, often the programs like summer
dance workshops or street theatre performances have been added.
Lately, mostly thanks
to the merits of choreographer Gagik Ismailian, Split witnessed a
stronger interest for more modern expressions, which was in a way
preceded by the very well remembered guest appearance of Kibbutz
Contemporary Dance Company
from Israel.
The
intentions and efforts of the present Dance Program Artistic Director
Almira Osmanović to invite prominent choreographers like Milko Šparenblek
and the new Croatian choreographic star on the rise Stašo Zurovac,
certainly imply the continuation of such tendencies.

Premda
se plesni dio programa Splitskog ljeta u nekim razdobljima držao posve
klasičnih baletnih naslova, bilježeći na otvorenim scenama uspješne
koreografije standardnih baletnih naslova i formi, ipak je njegovo
otvaranje suvremenijim plesnim pristupima i utjecajima s godinama bilo
sve izrazitije.
Tako
smo, što dalje to više, postajali svjedocima uspješne festivalske
koegzistencije velikih baletnih premijera prilagođenih biranim
ambijentalnim prostorima - uglavnom u izvedbama Baleta HNK Split pojačanog
solistima iz inozemstva; i istodobnim nastupima modernih plesnih trupa s
raznih krajeva svijeta.
Kontrastno
ili čak opozitno postavljenim baletnim programima pridruživane su
ponekad i ljetne plesne radionice ili predstave na razmeđu performancea
i uličnog kazališta.
Posljednjih
godina, zahvaljujući koreografu Gagiku Ismailianu, bili smo i u Splitu
svjedocima pojačanog interesa za modernijim plesnim izrazom i novim
traganjima, a njima kao da je prethodilo još i sada pamćeno gostovanje
Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company.
Pridruže
li se takvim tendencijama i nastojanja da Splitsko ljeto u svojoj
pedesetoj obljetnici pod vodstvom Almire Osmanović ugosti slavna imena
poput Milka Šparembleka ili koreografske zvijezde u usponu poput Staše
Zurovca, tad ćemo s pravom moći kazati kako je i ovaj segment
festivalskog programa doživio zamjetne uzmahe. |
