Juan de Marcos vođa je Afro-Cuban All Stars benda, skladatelj, majstor tres gitare, poduzetnik i glazbeni vizionar koji je 1997. u suradnji s britanskom izdavačkom kućom World Circuit oživio zvuk pedesetih, zlatnih godina kubanske glazbe. Rezultat tog projekta impresivan je, svjetski poznat, Buena Vista Social Club. Prvi album u Buena Vista Social Club seriji, A Toda Cuba Le Gusta, Juan de Marcovih Afro-Cuban All Stars, popločio je put veličanstvenom, zvjezdanom uspjehu umjetnika poput Rubena Gonzalesa  i Ibrahima Ferrera.

Juan de Marcos is the band-leader, composer, tres-player, entrepreneur and all-round musical visionary who teamed up with the UK record company World Circuit in 1997 to re-create the sound of the 1950s Golden Age of Cuban music, a project that led to the worldwide phenomenon Buena Vista Social Club. The first album in the Buena Vista Social Club series, A Toda Cuba Le Gusta, by Juan de Marcos’ Afro-Cuban All Stars, paved the way for the extraordinary late stardom of artists like Ruben Gonzalez and Ibrahim Ferrer. It also led to half a dozen years of intense touring for Juan de Marcos and his colleagues, conquering the most prestigious concert halls in the world and raising the status of Cuban popular performers to the highest rank for the first time in decades.
