je sedmeročlana glazbena skupina koja dolazi iz Wexforda, grada na
jugoistoku Irske i spada u red najpriznatijih izvođača irske
tradicionalne glazbe. Uostalom, oni su pobjednici najpoznatijeg državnog
natjecanja All
Ireland,
a njihova glazba odlikuje se snažnim energetskim nabojem i visokom
emotivnošću, što ARÍS čini prepoznatljivim i osobenim.
O njihovu odnosu prema glazbi koju sviraju možda najbolje svjedoči "Tis
Live",
najnoviji CD na kojemu se prdstavljaju širokim glazbenim kolažem u
rasponu od drevnih izvornih rukopisa

( 1763 - 1819 ) ili Bunting (
1773 - 1843 ), preko originalnih interpretacija britanske i škotske
glazbe, pa sve do najnovijih skladbi vrsnih irskih glazbenika.
To
je naprosto ARÍS u svom
najblistavijem izdanju, u svojim korijenima čvrsto naslonjenima na irsku
tradicionalnu glazbu, ali i u svome stilu kozmopoliski otvorenom. Ruše se
barijere, sve pršti od snage i humora. Glazba govori za sebe! Jigs
& reels ( popularni živahni irski i škotski plesovi ) odzvanjaju
u tapkajućim koracima, da bi potom neprimjetno otplovili prema laganim i
nježnim melodijama, a onda se opet vratili legendarnim i nadasve
duhovitim pjesmama.

Living up to the very high standards that these all Ireland
winning musicians set for themselves the jigs and reels
bounce along at foot tapping pace, in marked contrast to the soft and
delicate slow airs and historical and witty songs.
On their recording “Tis Live” Arís present us with a
splash of colourful, sensous music in their own distinctive style. Hugely
varied sources inspired this collection, including ancient Nathaniel Gow
(1763 – 1819) and Bunting (1773 - 1843) manuscripts, recently composed
material by great Irish musicians and original interpretations of music
from Brittany and Scotland. This is Arís at its most flamboyant, its roots firmly
established in the traditional music of Ireland, its style decidedly
cosmopolitan. Barriers are broken, energy and humour abound. The music
speaks for itself!
